about

After seeing Ferney Clough fall to his death, Dorothy is terrified and seeks refuge in the Cave of Voices. Unaware of her peril, Dorothy is calmed and reassured by the voice of the Siren, who offers solace and a place in the cave for ever. As she drifts into a deathly sleep, Dorothy remembers the sounds of home and the voice of her Mother and finds her own voice again. She sings a magic of her own, transporting the Siren to her ‘lonely place’ of visions, a place the Siren cannot control. Having found a way out of the cave, Dorothy offers to take the Siren with her, but She refuses, so Dorothy leaves, alone.

lyrics

"The waves in which we play are as old as time. Stay with me. Rest. Drift in the waves and you may suffer a sea change into something rich and strange."
